Key state legislators, staff and experts including Assembly Education Chair Joan Buchanan, Assemblymember Nancy Skinner, Governor Brown’s Education Advisor Karen Stapf-Walters, Legislative Analyst Mac Taylor and communications/public policy lecturer Dan Schnur met with PTA leaders to discuss issues such as:
- Proposed new school funding formula
- Teacher evaluations
- Services for foster children
- Common Core Standards
- State’s new assessment system
